Analisis Persepsi & Minat Partisipasi Pada Siswa Terhadap Organisasi Outdoor Pro-Environmental (Studi Kasus SMA Negeri 74 Jakarta)
Abstract
Pro-environmental organizations in secondary schools function as non-formal environmental education platforms that can foster nature-based experiences and pro-environmental attitudes; however, students’ organizational participation does not always correspond with their environmental interests. This study examines student engagement in pro-environmental school organizations as a staged process encompassing awareness, perceived organizational relevance, interest in outdoor activities, and intention to participate. A quantitative descriptive-analytical survey was conducted among 267 students of SMA Negeri 74 Jakarta. Data were collected using a seven-point Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed descriptively using mean scores and interpretive categories. The findings indicate that students’ awareness of pro-environmental organizations is moderate (M = 3.95), whereas perceived relevance (M = 5.65) and interest in outdoor activities (M = 5.56) are high. Students’ intention to participate reaches only a moderately high level (M = 5.06), reflecting a stronger preference for experiential outdoor activities than for long-term structural involvement in organizations. Key participation barriers are predominantly structural, including parental permission, time constraints, and financial limitations. These results highlight the importance of experiential, activity-based approaches and sustained institutional support in strengthening pro-environmental school organizations as part of environmental education and sustainable tourism development.
