Green Housekeeping Implementation: Evidence at WSB Hotel
Abstract
This study aims to analyze the implementation of Green Housekeeping and to formulate development strategies to support sustainability at WSB Hotel. The research method used is a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. The informants include the Housekeeping Manager, Supervisor, and staff directly involved in operations. Data were analyzed using SWOT analysis to identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats in program implementation. The results indicate that Green Housekeeping has been implemented fairly well through the application of 3R principles (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle), the use of environmentally friendly cleaning products, waste management practices, and energy and water efficiency efforts. However, several challenges remain, including lack of employee consistency, limited facilities, and suboptimal program evaluation. Therefore, strategies such as continuous employee training, routine evaluation systems, and strengthening sustainability-based organizational culture are recommended. In conclusion, Green Housekeeping plays an important role in supporting hotel sustainability, but its implementation needs to be optimized through integrated strategies.
