Implementasi Community Based Tourism Dalam Pengelolaan Pariwisata Berkelanjutan di Desa Penglipuran, Bali
Abstract
This study aims to analyze the implementation of Community Based Tourism (CBT) in Penglipuran Village as a cultural and sustainable tourism village, as well as to identify community participation, economic benefits, cultural and environmental preservation, challenges, and mitigation efforts. The research used a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, documentation, and literature studies involving traditional leaders, local communities, MSME actors, youth groups, tourism managers, and tourists. The findings indicate that the implementation of CBT in Penglipuran Village has been successfully carried out through active community participation in tourism management, cultural preservation, and environmental cleanliness. Community-based management under the traditional village system has positively contributed to improving local economic conditions through homestays, MSMEs, and cultural attractions. However, the study also found several challenges, including limited human resources, suboptimal visitor management, and the influence of modernization on local culture. The conclusion of this study reveals that the success of CBT in Penglipuran Village is strongly influenced by local wisdom, community participation, and customary systems that support sustainable tourism. This study suggests improving community capacity, strengthening sustainable tourism management, and controlling tourist numbers to maintain cultural and environmental balance.
