Abstract
This Community Service Program aimed to enhance the knowledge, awareness, and capacity of tourism-sector MSME owners in applying hygiene and sanitation principles in their daily business operations. The program was conducted at Jakarta Islamic Centre, Jakarta, involving 100 tourism-sector MSME participants. An educative-participatory approach was employed through counseling sessions, interactive discussions, question-and-answer activities, and evaluations using pre-tests and post-tests. The materials covered personal hygiene, sanitation of equipment and business environments, safe raw material handling, prevention of cross-contamination, and waste management practices. The results demonstrated a significant improvement in participants’ understanding, as indicated by an increase in the average score from 61.6% in the pre-test to 88.0% in the post-test. Furthermore, participants expressed high levels of satisfaction with the training materials, delivery methods, and overall benefits of the program.
